Creative Accents Custom Area Rugs -designed and crafted in California since 1963

7 New Faces

Well Spring is on its way, and we’re excited to bring a piece of it to you ahead of schedule. Seven new designs, narrowed down from a daunting 40, are ready to move out. It’s rewarding to watch the creative process happen ground up: from designers’ sketches and color stories, to manufacturing and shooting in a loft or showroom. These rugs are a great addition to our line, because collectively, they cast organic forms typical to traditional styles in a contemporary light. Hybrids, if you will. So we have high hopes for these seven, and are way excited to bring our customers a fresh bit of news every month of the year.  Keep checking in: we’ll keep you informed.

Take it easy,

Jake

For those of you that haven’t heard, or haven’t seen all the new rugs for that matter, Creative Accents has developed a good working relationship with Rick Lee Design within the last year or so. Despite the design work that his studio does for us, as well as multiple shows all over the world, and a long list of clients with new design needs every day, the boys at Rick Lee Design Studio were able to publish a very nice new website.

We were fortunate enough to have been asked to contribute, so we did. Creative Accents helped out with some very geeky coding work, and although it took us a little longer than we initially had hoped, the site came out great.

Rick and his team, as usual, have produced a great looking product that’s functional to boot. So go check it out.

Las Vegas Show Space

Well, the results are in! September’s Furniture Market was a slow show, but for us, it was a good show. I met a few of you that I’d spoken to many times over the phone, and It’s nice to finally connect voices with faces. We were also introduced to a few new design oriented companies, and we really like what we saw. Although direct sales were less than usual from LV, good networking connections were made that I’m sure will pay off in the long haul. Over all, what more can you expect with an economy like ours?

On a more serious note, if you’re ever in Las Vegas and get a hankering for Sushi (even though you’ll be 320 miles from the nearest ocean), fresh and tasty raw fish can be found at Shibuya.

Here’s a little video of the Market. Enjoy.

I Love New York. It is truly a magical city. Our Creative Accents family was truly honored to be selected to show at MAD – Museum of Arts and Design. My wife Katie and I attended the event that took place on August 17. We were selected because of our relationship to rick lee and the new fall collection that he designed for Creative Accents. The rug that was selected was the papillion that was featured in colors -  sunflower, steel, orange and pacific. This was a press event set up by the Las Vegas Furniture Market as a forerunner to the September market. Some of the press that attended were Instyle, The New York Times, Metropolitan Home, House Beautiful, Luxe Interiors + Design, Elle Decor, Rachael Ray, Veranda and O Magazine.

Rick’s Fall collection will be featured next at the High Point Market in the Directional/Carter showroom 525 N Wrenn St. High Point NC 27262.

If you plan on attending NY, I have a few suggestions. The Empire Hotel was very reasonable and was one block from Central park and walking distance to MAD. The best coffee in New York that I have found is a little Swedish espresso bar called Fika, also close to central park. Lastly, my wife got a great haircut at Cutler in Midtown East. If you’re going check them out.

Later, Ryan
